On November 10th we kick off a special three-week food drive for Sherwood Helping Hands. Sherwood Helping Hands is a local food pantry organized by the Sherwood United Methodist Church that coordinates with the Oregon Food Bank. In addition to the help it receives from the Oregon Food Bank, Sherwood Helping Hands relies on local donations to feed over 80 families in the city of Sherwood each month as well as provide backpacks of food on weekends to Sherwood school children who have limited access to food/meals on Saturday and Sunday (when not in school) They are running low on all items for their regular monthly distributions and we have felt a call to help and provide our students an opportunity to love and serve others in our community.
We have asked our Middle School and our High School students to gather specific items from friends, family, and neighbors. All donations are due no later than Sunday night (11/17/19) at Youth Group.
Canned vegetables, canned beans, canned tomatoes, any dry pasta (except spaghetti), Ramen, boxed Mac & Cheese, canned tuna.
